Farewell Scott Walker (31 mar 19)

All the time I developed my interest in avant-garde music, from Captain Beefheart to Amy X Neuburg, I missed Scott Walker. Except when a friend played me his renditions of Jacques Brel. Somehow, it didn't ring a bell. But I remember the Walker Brothers being in the charts when I was a kid, competing with the Beatles and the Stones, an early example of a boy-band. To go from that to Scott Walker's three final albums, which I'm listening to now, must be one of the biggest developments in the history of rock. It's funny how you sometimes don't miss someone til they die.
